- This past December I visited Cayman Brac, a small island in the Caribbean to research the Teignmouth Electron, a 40 foot sailboat involved in a failed solo attempt to circumnavigate of the earth without stopping in the late 1960’s. The boat has been beached on the island for the last 25 years. Here’s a link to some images of the boat and a brief narrative of it’s bizarre history. After about two years of research, travel and lots of tribulation, I purchased the boat from its longtime owner, Winston McDermott. Read the press release. I have a few projects that are in the works involving the boat. Check back for more.
